Have arrived in Roswell. Received your cover assignment and will go to
the high school early tomorrow morning. Currently studying counseling
methods that are appropriate for high school students. Somehow, I don't
think the FBI manual on "counseling" would work in this situation.

Hotel room Spartan, but comfortable.  Please find attached a list of
expenses accumulated so far.

Agent Stephens:

Assignment has already hit a bump.  Geometry teacher was out sick today,
so the principal at West Roswell High asked me to fill in.  Had
difficulty since this is not the role I studied.  Teenagers can smell
fear, and I think they smelled it coming off me in waves.

Tried to play up self-deprecating humor and it gave me different insight
into student body.  One student already missing from my first class
[Guerin, Michael].  Is he on our list of potentials?  Please notify at
earliest convenience.

SUBJ: The exciting life of an FBI agent!

Mom,

Still in Wash D.C.  Nothing going on.  Just a lot of filing and
answering calls.  My superiors seem happy with my work, but you can
never tell.  You know, you see on TV and movies the FBI doing all kinds
of crazy stuff.  If only they saw the reality, it'd be a lot less
interesting!

Sorry to hear about Aunt Poppy.  Perhaps it's for the best that she's
done with all that suffering.  I won't be able to fly home for the
funeral because work keeps me very busy.  I hope the family understands.

Give Dad a big kiss for me!
