Internet Fan Names, Terms & Groups
These groups were formed and given names by the Roswell fans on the internet.
Some were never organized groups, but more like titles to describe certain types of fans.
Almost all of the organized groups are gone now.
AAA - Alien Addiction Affiliates - possibly the first Roswell club, started on what claimed to be the first Roswell fans site, Up North
AARL - African-American Roswell Lovers
The Alien Mafia - Max and Michael fans. Not to be confused with "TRUE Alien Mafia" (see below)
Amour Dreamers - these are the Dreamers that believe in a passionate love between Max and Liz. As in, not necessarily chaste, but not quite as close to cementing as the Blush Dreamers.
ANZACs - Austrailians and New Zealanders who Are Crazy over Katherine Heigl
Archivist - people who are attempting to preserve Roswell's history and fanfiction from disappearing from the internet. they repost fanfic and info about Roswell on active sites to save it.
Arizonian - Roswell fans in Arizona
A.S.S. - The Alien Support Society. Our name for Liz, Maria, Alex and Kyle
ATL - Anti Tess League
AWACS - At Work And Can't Stay off the boards
BAK - Brendan Ass Kisser (defenders of Brendan Fehr when others criticize/bash him)
BASST - Brothers And Sisters Sleeping Together (anti-BASSTs are against Michael and Isabel romance)
Blush Dreamers - these dreamers want passionate kissing and almost cementing but no cementing for awhile yet!!
BOFs - Brendan's Older Fans (over-thirty fans of Brendan Fehr)
BOOM - Back Off Our Michael, they call themselves BOOMers
Campainger - Roswell Fans who were involved in various campaings to keep Roswell on the air, and publicize it to get more media attention and more viewers, and more recently fans who were working to get a Roswell movie or another Roswell series made
CAPS - a group of Roswell Fans who live in and around the US capitol city, Washington DC
Castaways - People that do not fit in any of the categories
Cement Dreamers - dreamers who do want Max & Liz to cement but haven't quite reached the depths of depravity of the Guttercouchers!
CHADDs - Continuity Holes and Annoying Discrepancy Discussers, Investigators and discussors of plotholes and continuity issues on Roswell
Chemists - discuss the chemistry between Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby.
Cherishing Dreamers aka Romantic Dreamer - fans who love the relationship and romance between Max/Liz and stay away from the sexual side
CRO - Crazy Roswell Obsessie
CTR - Central Texas Roswellians
DAT - this can stand for either Dupe Appreciation Thread or Dreamers Against Tess
Deathtrapper - a fan of Max's jeep, named Bob by the fans
DeTESSter - a Roswellain who hates the character, Tess Harding
Die Hard Dreamers - Dreamers who believe in Max and Liz's love no matter what happens
Displaced Dreamers - They're "Dreamers in the classic sense" but they explore other options when Max starts pissing them off. They bow to a Royal Court that consists of Liz as King, Kyle as Queen, and S2 Max as a royal toilet scrubber among other things...
DOT - Death of Tess, short stories about Tess dying written by Tess haters
Dreamcult - derogitory term for dreamers
Egyptian - comes from Roswell Underground's message board, usually a Michael/Maria fan who doesn't take the show too seriously
Friendshipper - fans of the show's friendships
Granolith - fans of guess what
HTC - Hate Tess Club
IERF - Isabel Evans Resistance Forces, an anti-Isabel group
IRO - Italians Roswell Obsessed
Guttercouchers - Not only do these dreamers want cement, but they turn every comment into a cement-related idea.
Kiwi - a poster from New Zealand (NZ fans are the Kiwi Embassy)
Koala Behrs - Austrailian fans of Jason Behr
KVEB - Kyle Valenti Estrogen Brigade
JRA - Jewish Roswell Addicts
LaFehrs - Latin Fehrians (so see "Fehrian" I guess)
Liz Mythers - those who speculate on Liz's importance to the alien mythology
LMG - Little Match Girl. Fans of Brendan Fehr's new 'do, who thinks he looks like Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20
Loners - discussers of the show who do not focus on a particular 'ship, also disucssers who focus on the 'minor' characters of Roswell like Deputy Hansen or Courtney
LPGA - the Liz Parker Guardian Angels
MAK - Majandra Ass Kisser (defenders of Majandra Delfino when others criticize/bash her)
MAKstick - Similar to chapstick; MAKs use it to keep their lips from getting chapped from all the ass kissing.
MALSS - Michael and Liz Separation Society
Max Apologists - someone who defends Max's terrible behavior at the end of season 2, (how he acted like such a jerk, and treated Liz and Isabel so poorly, and slept with Tess when it was so out of character), and tries to get other fans to see that he wasn't so bad or that there were reasons for his actions. Most of these reasons include being mindwarped or manipulated by Tess.
MOB - Mark Of the Behr - women who have silver handprint tattoos
NAMO - New zealand/Austrailian Majandra Obsessors
Nickologist Project - the study of Nick Wechsler
NVTP - Nonviolent Tess Protest
ORBS - Older Roswellian BelieverS - the over 20 crowd
OTOs - Over Thirty and Obsessed
PODs - Positive Die-hards. You think Roswell sucks? Well, hit the road. They're not giving up on it yet.
PODs - Protectors Of Destiny - like Max/Tess and Michael/Isabel together
Polar Mafia - a group of Polar fans
Pollyanna - also called "Pollys", another word for positive fans of the show, but these are usually Max/Liz fans
PTH - Pure Tess Haters
RACS - Roswell-Addicted College Students
RAGE - Roswellians Against Glorified Extras (an anti-Tess group)
RALF - Roswell's Automobile-Loving Fans
RAMS - Roswell Ate My Soul, a group of dreamers who created their own board
RANCID - Roswellians Against Narrow Close-minded Intolerant Dreamers
RBI - the Roswell Bureau of Investigation. These are the folks who orig posted the Liz's Importance to the Alien Mythology threads.
RCC - the Royal Cabana Club (a group of posters who met on the episode commentary threads during the summer and like to snark about the show)
Reject Dreamers - the slightly more laid-back Dreamers of the Jason Behr boards
Romantic Dreamer aka Cherishing Dreamers - fans who love the relationship and romance between Max/Liz and stay away from the sexual side
Ros-ology - (my own personal term for) the study of Roswell, and obsessing over all the details and theories about the show.

Roswell Dead Centers - a group of fans that live in the middle of America

Roswellian - a term for Roswell fans. If you love Roswell, you are a roswellian
Roswell's TAIL - Anti Liz group (sorry can't remember what it stands for)
RPC - Roswell Playas Club (a place for those with Y chromosomes)
RRA - Recovering Roswell Addict
SCWAH - Sarcastic Candy Girls Who Adore Hank
SD - see Spoiled Dreamers
Sexual Dreamer - fans who like Liz/Max in adult fics
Shapeshifters - Roswell fans who support each other while dieting
Shipper - fans who like the romantic relationships in Roswell. Some 'ship' one relationship, some 'ship' two or more, or all of them.
Snow Dreamers - those who do not believe in a sexual relationship between Max and Liz but chaste romance.
Spoiled Dreamers - Deamers who couldn’t wait for Max and Liz to get back together so they read all of the spoilers
SPR - Sugar Pimpin' Roswellians (eccentric folks who have met cast members)
Strawberries - Max/Liz
This was used on a couple of the smaller sites for Max and Liz fans before Dreamer caught on. Now everyone uses Dreamer.
SVC - unknown (save the villains club?, support Valenti club? lol)
T Alien Mafia - see "TRUE"
TNT Dreamers - stands for Top-Notch Tolerance Dreamers, they make a point of not bashing Tess or other characters
TOOB - The Order Of Bob - fans of Max's Jeep
TPA - Tess Protection Agents
Triple A - fan of Brendan/Michael's arms
TRUE - Teenage Roswellians Unite Eternally, basically for the under 20 crowd (the ones who post on the Roswell 1 board are the TRUE Alien Mafia, or T Alien Mafia)
UFO - United French Organization
Vibrators - those who caught the "Gay Vibes Of Roswell"
Vigilante Girls or VGs - A group of militant anti-Rebel, anti-Tess Dreamgirls
YOR - Young Obsessed Roswellians
Youthagers - I believe these were pre-teen Roswell fans

These terms and acronyms were mostly created by the Roswell fans and used to describe things in and about the show. They were used mainly on Roswell boards and sites, but you might also see them in fanfiction.
3 Musketeers - Liz, Maria and Alex
AA - can stand for All Aliens like another way to say CC, can also stand for Alien Abyss - the section of fanfiction at RF.
Alternate Universe - aka AU - a fic that takes place in an alternative universe (e.g. Max never healed Liz, the humans + aliens are reversed, the entire story is set in a fairy tale, Michael was adopted, there are no aliens, etc.)

Bad Hair - Another name for Michael
Bangs - Another name for Diane Evans
BF - Brendan Fehr
BHAEBSOT or BAEBSOT - Black Hole that Ate Everything Between Seasons One and Two
BHAEBSTAT or BAEBSTAT - Black Hole that Ate Everything Between Seasons Two And Three
Bob - Max's Jeep
Bot - (as in "the Bot") a derogatory term for Liz and her so-called robotic ways
CC - see Conventional Couple
Captain Hairdo - a nickname for Michael
cement - a popular Max/Liz euphemism for sex (Future Max said it first, so you can thank him)
CHADs - Continuity Holes and Annoying Discrepancies
Conventional Couple - Max + Liz, Michael + Maria, Alex + Isabel, Amy + Jim, Kyle + Tess (and sometimes Isabel + Jessie)
canon - the text of the show, and what we know about the characters and situations unseen
Darth - Refers to Darth Katims, also known as Jason Katims, the executive producer of Roswell
Destiny Book - the book that Tess got from the library and gave to Max that shows their “destiny” together
Destiny Cave - aka the pod chamber
Dupes - The Aliens duplicates
EdR - short for Emily deRavin
Edsedo - Another Name for Nasedo
Elle - a nickname for Max's season three Chevelle
EMHB - Evil Mindwarping Hose Beast or Evil Mindwarping Hell Beast - another name for Tess, a sarcastic shorthand for any "Tess is evil" scenario
fanon - it is a combination of the words fan and canon, and describes things that NEVER happened on the show, that were made up by fans, and have become so popular in the fandom, that they are almost like canon. For example, Liz smelling like strawberries, Maria calling everyone 'chica', Isabel being an ice princess all the time, Max becoming a doctor, etc. Also can refer to things we never saw on the show that seemed to have happened between scenes or between episodes, like some fans believe that Isabel lengthened Maria's hair in season 1 because it was very short and then very long.
Future Max - episode End of the World – season 2 - Max from 14 years in the future who can to stop Liz from sleeping with present day Max thereby cementing their relationship and making Tess go away (He couldn't have left well enough alone?)
Genie - an early name for Maria's Jetta. Comes from Maria singing "Genie in a Bottle" while driving.
Gerbil - another name for Tess
Girlinabox - another name for Laurie Dupree
H-Squad - nickname for the humans who know about the aliens - h-squad = human squad
HARHAGG - Hopefully Advocating the Return of Helpful Alien Good Guys. Same as above, but for the Lareks of the Roswellian world.
Helmet Head - another name for Ava, because of her haircut
Holo-mom - The holographic image of Max and Isabel's mother as seen in Destiny
Hybrid Crap-a-thon - Nickname given to the wildly unsuccessful Hybrid chronicles (To Serve & Protect, We are Family, Disturbing Behavior, & How the Other Half Live) that aired during the February Sweeps in 2001
Ice Princess/Queen - Isabel's fan-created nickname
IKAAC - fan abbreviation for I Know An Alien Club
Isaboob - a nickname given to Isabel by fans who don't like her
Isabore - A nickname given to Isabel by fans who are sick of her or Isabel centered episodes
JB - Jason Behr
JF - Jonathon Frakes
JK - Jason Katims
JKrew - The writers, powers that be, Jason Katims and co. Usually used with sarcasm.
Kato - a derogatory term for Jason Katims
KH - Katherine Heigl
KHo - a derogatory term for Katherine Heigl
Liquid Sex - an affectionate nicname for Jason Behr, because he is liquid sex lol - also a website of the same name dedicated to him
LIVCOS - Liz Is a Vast Chasm Of Suck
LORSWAH - Landscape of Roswell Shifts We Assume Happened
LTLB - Lament The Lost Brilliance, shorthand for any theory lost to the F4F demons, evil hackers, or pure poster laziness.
Maj - Majandra Delfino
Make-out mobile - (aka the SS Randy) another name for Max's Convertible in Season 3
Maxcedo - another name for Nasedo when he was posing as Max
MIAA - Max is an Irredeemable Alien Ass - how many fans felt about Max after witnessing his jerky behavior toward everyone at the end of sesaon 2, especially Liz, and the fact that he slept with Tess. Many Dreamers felt Max could never be redeemed after that. He was an ass and didn't deserve Liz.
Momogram - see Holo-mom
The Monopoly Nazi - aka MN - another name for Mr Evans, because in the epi Independence Day he insisted that they play Monopoly by the exact rules
Morgan HoChild - another name for Morgan Fairchild in season 3
Niko - nickname for Nicholas
NM4 - New Mexico Four (aka Pod Squad)
NY4 - New York Four (aka the Dupes)
OCC - off camera conversation - a conversation we assume took place because it is later refered to in an episode - like when Isabel says to Maria in 'Leaving Normal' that they agreed to never speak until they were alone. That conversation never happened on the show.
-oholic - can be used at the end of any term and means a fanatical fan of, such as (Max-oholic, Kyle-oholic, etc) - also see slut & whore
-ologist - fans who jokingly call themselves experts on a certain body part/trait of a Roswell star (started with the Nickologists for Nick Wechsler)... examples: Nick's chestologist, Majandra's voiceologist, Emilie's armologist, etc.
OMB - used instead of OMG ("oh my God")... it either stands for "Oh My Bob" or "Oh My Buddha" (I've heard both)
P-PGUN - the other four planets aligned with Planet SAWN (Antar). Stands for Planets -- Please Give Us Names
The Parking Lot - Where any CHADD with a far out or wacky theory is sent to chill out for a while at the ongoing tailgate party. Why the parking lot? Because someone once had a theory that was out in left field, and as the ideas grew zanier, they eventually were forced out of the stadium, into the parking lot.
Pecs - another term for Max
Pepsi - another term for Maria, not a clue why
Planet of Mental Midgets - aka POMM - A catchall theory to explain why no alien has so far acted with anything approaching common sense, and why all the grand alien schemes seem to be riddled with giant holes.
Planet SAWN - Planet Still Annoying even With a Name, usually shortened to P-SAWN or PSAWN. Formerly "Planet Still Annoyingly Without a Name." What the Chadds named the alien's home planet before the name Antar was finally unveiled
Pod Squad - Max, Michael, Isabel, sometimes Tess
Podsters - another name for the Pod Squad
POMM - see Planet of Mental Midgets
Porno – another name for Sheriff Valenti, supposedly because in the scenes with Isabel he kept looking at her boobs
P-STUN - the other four planets aligned with Planet SAWN. Stands for Planets -- Still Thankfully UnNamed!
PSWAN - Planet Still Without a Name - the planet the pods squad is from - see Planet SWAN

R4 - Roswell Four (aka Pod Squad)
RD - River Dog
ROSTWAH - Roswell Off Screen Thing We Assume Happened. For example, in Leaving Normal, Isabel tells Maria that they agreed never to speak until they were completely alone. That conversation never happened in an episode.
Roswell-centric - something based around Roswell or that centers around Roswell, for example, this website is Roswell-centric
Roswellian - any fan of Roswell, also the name of the peron who founded the CHADS
Scruffy - Maria's music writing friend Billy
SHFKAM - the Skanky Ho Formerly Known As Maria (the nasty character some say Maria became in season three)
Ship (s) (er) - shortened word for relationship refering to people who support a certain friendship or romantic pairing (ie. Dreamers are Max/Liz shippers)
SHP - see silver hand print
Silver Hand Print - the official Roswell web site of the WB
Slackjaw - Another name for Mr Parker, because some say he always has his mouth open
slut - can be used at the end of any term and means a fanatical fan of, such as (Maxslut, Kyleslut, fanfic slut, smut slut, etc) - also see whore & -oholic
Snake - Another name for Tess
Spoilers - advance rumors and news about plot developments on the show. Not everyone wants to know about them, hence the need to be discreet when discussing them
SpoT - Spawn of Tess - derogatory term for Max and Tess's son (see "Sweetpea" and "Ximak")
SPT - Declaration by Elliott in the aftermath of End 0f the World. The existence of a 'Sadistic Production Team' (whose members are comprised of Grand Executive Sadist Jason Katims, Chief Financial Sadist Kevin Kelly Brown, Ron Moore Powerful Newbie Sadist and, including but not limited to the writers and producers of Roswell and the professional sadists TPTB of The WB), is supported by the amazing number of posts disclosing extreme melancholia, sadness, tears and physical aches, e.g., migraines, bleary/puffy eyes, internal preoccupation/distraction, insomnia; due to viewing End of the World! The disclosure of unBEHRablycutes' constant mantra throughout the aftermath of End of the Word, "Damn you, Katims!" further documents and supports the 'SPT' concept, because of , as she states, 'that strange dichotomy of being so incredibly impressed with Shiri, Jason and JK's talents and caring toward this love story, to the polar opposite of hating JK for the messages he put out there, e.g. the 4 aliens must stay together for their powers to be the strongest (when WILL they ditch the bitch cuz the ho must go).' It is truly a 'sadistic production team' that creates such a moving, dramatic, involving episode that tears at the seams of our hearts and causes crushing, situational depression among Dreamers!
SS Randy - (aka the make-out mobile) another name for Max's Convertible in Season 3
SUMMIT - Smarten Up Michael, Maria Is There
SWAAVI - Stop Whacking All Alien Villains Immediately. It's a little lobby that some of us have formed to keep our favorite bad guys around for more than one episode -- both because we like them and because they should be useful information resources. Not that anyone on this show would know recognize a valuable source of information if it used an overhead projector and bullet points, but still . . .
Sweetpea - a more friendly name for Max and Tess's son
T*** - Another name for Tess by fans who are so angry or upset that they can stand to type the name
Tesstinie - Tess is supposed to be Max's destiny. Tess + Destiny = Tesstinie. Mostly used by dreamers who don't believe in the destiny Tess is a part of.
Tex - term for Max and Tess's son - a combination of their names Tess+Max=Tex
Thing - Another name for Tess
Tic-Tac - the shapeshifter who ate mints after he shape shifted. Often referred to as "tic-tac" when people discuss whether he is the same person as Nasedo
TPTB - The Powers That Be (the writers, directors and producers, the WB, Fox, Katims, UPN, etc.)
TPTS - The Powers That Suck (the writers, directors and producers,the WB, Fox, Katims, etc.)
Tramp - Another name for Tess
Trash - Another name for Tess
Twilo - The name given to the pod squad's planet by the CHADDS before it was named on the show (it was taken from the Dick Van Dyke show)
UC - stands for Unconventional Couple, any romantic pairing not between Max/Liz, Michael/Maria, Isabel/Alex or Kyle/Tess
Unconventional couple - see UC
whore - can be used at the end of any term and means a fanatical fan of, such as (Maxwhore, Kylewhore, fanfic whore, smut whore, etc) - also see slut & -oholic
Ximak - another name for Max and Tess's son, mostly used by Rebels (see "SpoT" and "Sweetpea")
Zombie - another name for Max

These are common terms and used on boards & websites that are Roswell-centric or not
Affiliates (aka sister sites, brother sites, cousin sites, Buddy sites ) - web sites with a relationship to another site and are considered a closer connection than just a link. Sometimes it is sites owned by friends, or sites who are promoting each other, or sometimes monetary or other support is given
Avatar - aka avi - a small picture or animation used as a personal statement on internet posts
Buddy sites (aka sister sites, brother sites, cousin sites, affiliates) - web sites with a relationship to another site and are considered a closer connection than just a link. Sometimes it is sites owned by friends, or sites who are promoting each other, or sometimes monetary or other support is given
Carrie - (as in "go Carrie", "pull a Carrie") the sudden disappearance of a thread for an unexplained reason (server error)
Clique (aka Fanlisting, Club or Group) - clubs formed by Roswell fans united by a common love, such as an episode, couple, character, item, etc. Some had entire websites dedicated to them, like the infamous yahoo groups,others were icons or siggies that you could take a to display

FSC - funny screen caps aka funniest screencaps - a game where you post screencaps and make up funny captions or stories to go with them

Roswell 1 Board - When Roswell was at the top of its popularity, there were two Roswell boards on Fan Fourm to cover all of the Roswell discussion. The Roswell 1 Board was where posters discussed the show
Roswell 2 Board - When Roswell was at the top of its popularity, there were two Roswell boards on Fan Fourm to cover all of the Roswell discussion. The Roswell 2 Board was where posters discussed the actors and behind the scenes of the show

Tape Trade - Roswell aired before everyone had DVRs and before shows were regularly released to DVD, so to save the show off TV we had use video tapes or VHS tapes to record the show. If you missed an episode, there was no on-demand or replay online, so people set up tape trade sites. They would offer to copy tapes they made of the show and trade or sell them to you.
Thread - the name given to the link used to post about a particular topic
Webring - groups of multiple websites all connected with links to each other. At one time it seemed like every Roswell website hosted its own webring as well as being part of 50 other webrings
